Meet the friendly staff at Compassion Veterinary Clinic!
Dr. Patil grew up in India as part of a large family of doctors of human medicine. He was influenced by one of his teachers to pursue veterinary medicine. Dr. Patil graduated from Mysore Veterinary College in Bengaluru, India in 1981 with honors in pathology. While pursuing his veterinary studies he was also quite accomplished in sports and represented his University in Field Hockey.
Dr. Patil arrived in the United States in 1982 where he continued his veterinary studies in pathology. He received his Masters Degree in Pathology at Albany Medical College in 1985 and worked as a pathologist at New York University Medical Center for the next two years. In 1987, he chose to work more closely with pets and their owners and moved to Massachusetts to begin working as a small animal veterinarian at the New England Animal Medical Center in West Boylston. While continuing to work in West Boylston, Dr. Patil opened Compassion Veterinary Clinic on Hosmer Street in Marlborough, MA in August of 1989. Looking to expand his practice, Dr. Patil purchased and renovated the property located on 275 Boston Post Road East (the original Registry of Motor Vehicles in Marlborough). In 1995 he moved Compassion Veterinary Clinic to its current location.
Dr. Patil is actively involved in the World Vets Organization. This group of volunteers travel to countries/areas in need and provide charitable veterinary care. He also donates his time as a veterinarian and member of the board of trustees helping to run an animal shelter in Mysuru, India.
Dr. Patil has many interests beyond veterinary medicine. He enjoys outdoor activities that include whitewater rafting, hiking, and zip lining. Travel, however, is his passion along with his dream of visiting every country in the world.
